Apex Legends is perhaps the fastest rising videogame of 2019 so far. It is an online battle royale published by EA and developed by Respawn Entertainment. Even though it is an EA game, it’s completely free-to-play with no pay-to-win scheme. Apex Legends completely relies on microtransactions just like its biggest competitor Fortnite Battle Royale. These microtransactions only contain cosmetic purchases which have no effect on the overall performance of the player. Sure, some skins may feel like camouflage but still, nothing but visuals.

They created Apex Legends using Titanfall 2’s engine and the result of that, Titanfall sequel and Apex Legends are pretty look-a-like. We shouldn’t underestimate the backstory of Apex Legends as it was probably one of the biggest reasons the game had reached such popularity to this day. First and foremost, it is an EA game, secondly, it is almost like Titanfall v2.5, and last but not least, it’s free-to-play. This feels like the perfect recipe for a battle royale game to reach higher numbers of audiences.

So far step by step, Apex Legends had reached its first million players in just 8 hours after the launch. Following 10 million in 72 hours and 25 million in just the first week alone. This was huge news for Apex Legends as it was doing so much better than Fortnite and PUBG in their early days combined. After 4 weeks Vince Zampella, the CEO of Apex Legends announced that the game had finally reached 50 million players worldwide and celebrated with the tweet below.

There haven’t been any announcements on the player count after this and we don’t know if Apex is close to 100 million or a number similar to that. But it is for sure that Apex Legends is the fastest growing videogame of 2019. This fresh battle royale is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. You can click the link below to download!
